How to help with substance use impacts online workshop

This online workshop is for support workers only. It will be held over Zoom across three sessions on Monday 1 May 10am to 12:30pm, Monday 8 May 10am to 12pm, and Friday 12 May 10am to 12pm. You must be able to attend all three sessions to register.

How to help with substance use impacts is an online workshop for support workers working alongside people experiencing mental health challenges or addiction issues. The workshop will help you to:

  • recognise harmful and risky substance use
  • respond safely to substance use issues
  • understand harm reduction approaches
  • support safer withdrawal management

The workshop will explore:

  • practical strategies to support an intoxicated person with disturbed behaviour
  • how to support a person in withdrawal from alcohol, methamphetamine, and synthetic cannabinoids
  • how to provide harm reduction advice.
