Join Charmaine Diver (NZRN, 65 Alive Case Manager, AOD Clinician) from Odyssey House Christchurch on Tuesday 8 July 2025, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM for a transformative webinar showcasing powerful recovery stories from older adults.

Charmaine (Char) Diver is a dedicated NZRN/AOD Clinician based in Christchurch, with extensive experience managing residential aged care facilities. Formerly based in Auckland, Char has progressed from a 14-year-old Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to a New Zealand Registered Nurse (NZRN), building expertise in clinical leadership & executive management. Drawing from her own lived experience with addiction, she made the deliberate decision in 2020 to focus her clinical work in this area, joining the 65 Alive service at Odyssey House in Christchurch. 65 Alive is the only dedicated Community Based AOD & CEP Service for Seniors in New Zealand.

Char brings a deep understanding of compassionate, person-centred care, combining her professional expertise with a remarkable ability to connect with individuals facing complex challenges. Her leadership is defined by a commitment to fostering innovation, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of care for older adults is available.

This event will highlight personal journeys of resilience, featuring older individuals who have navigated addiction and found renewed purpose through recovery and being part of a therapeutic community. Through candid storytelling and shared experiences, this webinar aims to shift the narrative—hoping to inspire Kaimahi working with older whaiora to recognise and believe in the fact that recovery is possible at any age.

  • Includes: A brief PowerPoint introduction to 65 Alive.
  • Registration open now.

Let’s celebrate our older people’s resilience, hope, and success—because the strongest stories are written in the pages of perseverance and triumph.
