COVID-19 events can have unexpected impacts on people and whānau who have experienced trauma before. Te Pou has created this resource to provide ways for all workers to support people who may be experiencing strong reactions triggered by the lockdown experience and ongoing social isolation. This could be caused through the very natural increased anxiety, uncertainty and fear from the pandemic.
Taking a values approach is vital in these times. The resource draws on the Let's get real values and provides examples of how to intentionally apply these values to maintain a trauma informed approach.
