Mental health and addiction workforce supply, 2021 to 2024

This report collates information about the mental health and addiction workforce from 32 different sources. It builds a picture of the workforce across multiple workforce supply measures including size, diversity, skills, experience, mobility, and wellbeing.

Key findings are that the workforce is:

• mature, mostly female, and ethnically diverse
• highly skilled and has considerable experience
• strongly reflects lived experience.

The sources identify various workforce challenges for specific providers and workforce roles. While the information is not a complete picture of the workforce, it provides a wide ranging overview and snapshot.
