PRIMHD

Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data

PRIMHD (pronounced ‘primed’) is the Ministry of Health’s national mental health and addiction information collection of activity and outcomes data. It stands for ‘Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data’.

The data is collected from district health boards (DHBs) and non-government organisations (NGOs) for the Ministry of Health.

PRIMHD data is used to report on what services are being provided, who is providing the services, and what outcomes are being achieved for tāngata whai ora across New Zealand’s mental health sector.

This information enables better quality service planning and decision making by mental health and addiction service providers at local, regional and national levels.

Te Pou uses PRIMHD information to provide quarterly national HoNOS summary reports to services providers.
