OST and you is for people and whānau to access information about how opioid substitution treatment (OST) services are delivered in Aotearoa New Zealand. This guide is based on the Aotearoa New Zealand Practice Guidelines for Opioid Substitution Treatment 2025 (national guidelines).
OST and you describes the aims of OST, treatment stages (assessment, induction, ongoing treatment, and completion), the role of general practitioners (GPs) and community pharmacists, and other issues related to OST. The guide is written by people with experience of OST for people receiving OST and their whānau.
