Support worker webinar – Working with Rainbow communities

Please only register if you are employed in a support worker role. Although you may work with Rainbow communities in a different role, these interactive webinars are designed for the support workforce and reflects their specific work type and activities.

Te Pou is hosting a series of online workshops for support workers working in mental health and addiction services. The theme of the webinars is Engagement – Building trust and connection with people you are supporting.

This 2.5 hour session will be about supporting people from Rainbow communities who are experiencing mental health challenges and problematic substance use.

Topics include, understanding different rainbow communities and the discrimination and mental health issues each group may experience and how to reassure, engage and build trust with people from rainbow communities that you are supporting.

These interactive webinars are a chance to refresh your knowledge and reflect on how you engage and connect with people in your support worker role.
