Values workshops are intended to provide a safe, enjoyable and discrete space for people to reflect on the values that impact on their work and to be intentional in applying their own values and the Let’s get real values to their practice. It is expected that people considering a role in facilitating the workshops have had previous facilitation experience in the mental health and addiction sector and have the intention of using Values in action with their service.
These workshop resources aim to equip people to facilitate workshops in ways that enable participants to reflect and explore how values and attitudes influence their work. It is important to ensure the process allows the space and time needed to explore core beliefs that drive attitudes and behaviours. Facilitation ideally validates all perspectives, provides opportunities for reflection, and provides experiences that are enjoyable which promote the efficacy of people to take this work forward. The posters and cards are intended as tools to promote these approaches
