Māhuri Tōtara: National support worker summits 2024

Are you a support worker working in the mental health and addiction sector?

Te Pou invites you to attend the Māhuri Tōtara: National support worker summits for 2024. These events are a great opportunity for kaimahi to come together as a workforce, to discuss issues that uniquely relate to their work.

The theme for 2024 will be Hononga/Connection.

Topics will include:

  • updates on national activities supporting the development of the support workforce
  • connecting with tāngata whai ora and whānau
  • connecting, as a workforce
  • connecting with opportunities to enhance your practice.

Travel and accommodation grant

We are delighted to have two events next year, one in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and one in Ōtautahi Christchurch so that there are more opportunities for people to attend.

The Tāmaki Makaurau summit will be on Tuesday 12 March 2024, and the Ōtautahi summit will be on Thursday 13 June 2024.

Travel grants are available to assist organisations with the costs associated with their staff attending these events. The process for applying for these grants will be via our grants portal.

Registration and applications for travel grants for the Tāmaki Makaurau summit have now closed. The event in Tāmaki Makaurau is intended for kaimahi whose normal place of work is in Te Ika a Māui.

Registration and applications for travel grants for the Ōtautahi summit will open on Friday 1 March and close on Tuesday 30 April 2024. The event in Ōtautahi is intended for kaimahi whose normal place of work is in Te Waipounamu.

There are 80 places available for each event. We want to ensure that kaimahi from a range of services can attend and ask organisations to please be mindful when considering registration numbers. If you are wanting to register more than 10 kaimahi for one summit, please get in touch with alexia.black@tepou.co.nz.
