You can use these resources to increase your knowledge and skills, especially the gaps identified in the Real Skills assessment tool. Weave them into your individual or team development plans.
The resources are organised below into the three levels of the framework: essential, enhanced, and leadership.
Essential level (for everyone working in health)

This micro-learning explores how vital support workers are to national data collection, being the entry point for much of this information. It also explains how data is used by people in different roles in the system. Approx. 30 mins to complete.
Providing support by phone or video: some practical guidance for NGO support workers
Written guidance (3 pages) on preparing for a phone or video call with tāngata whai ora, and how to effectively start and finish a call.
HDC e-learning
The Health & Disability Commissioner provides a free e-learning for kaimahi on how to apply the Code of Health and Disability Consumers’ Rights into your everyday practice. Approx. 30 mins to complete.
Nga Paerewa Te Tiriti e-Learning
Two e-learning modules that focus on cultural safety and the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within the Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard. The modules are available to Health NZ kaimahi. Approx. 60 mins to complete each module.
Privacy e-learnings
The Privacy Commissioner offers free e-learning for kaimahi covering the basics about health information privacy, including sharing information with whānau or other services. The Health ABC module is approx. 30 mins. More advanced modules are also available.

Introduction to the SA(CAT) Act
This e-learning supports kaimahi in application of the Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 2017. Approx. 30-45 mins of self-paced learning.
